Please Note: This course is applicable for use of 3DL Laser Sensor with integral 2D camera.
This is not 3DMV (Multi-View) – which is typically Automotive in application. 3DMV (Multi-View) consists of multiple 2D cameras.
This is not 3DAS (Area Sensor) – which is typically used in Bin Picking applications.
This course covers the basic tasks and procedures required for an operator, technician, engineer, or programmer to setup, teach, test, and modify iRVision 3DL applications on an R-30iB Robot Controller.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student can identify the components of a vision system, install vision hardware, develop an application, program the robot, perform error recovery procedures and follow recommended safety practices. More specifically:
- View and/or change robot and computer parameters to facilitate access to the robot’s web page
- Understand 3DL Process and Hardware
- Calibrate the system for 3DL
- Set up and execute 3DL Single View Process
- Set up and execute 3DL Multi-View Process
- Utilize basic “tools” within 3DL iRVision
- Program the robot to respond to vision results
In addition to presentations and demonstrations, this course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete. Lab exercises relate directly to the classroom presentations and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned through actual hands-on experience.
Audience: This course is intended for the person who must set-up, program, and troubleshoot an iRVision – 3DL system using FANUC Robot equipped with iRVision that has successfully completed iRVision 2D training.
Prerequisites: Completion of a live, FANUC instructor led Operation and Programming course (such as HandlingTool, ArcTool, SpotTool) and, either a live FANUC instructor led iRVision Operations and Programming-2D course, or successful completion of the online “2D Opt Out exam”. Please note: Completion of an online eLearn Operation and Programming course will not meet this Operation and Programming prerequisite.
