CNC Simulator

For students advancing to a smaller job shop or tool room, MANUAL GUIDE i simplifies programming. Students learn how to get the job completed in the shortest time possible and focus on machine operations, rather than just G-code, providing students with exposure to FANUC CNC controls without the need for a full machine. The FANUC CNC Simulator is based on the FANUC Series 0i – MODEL F platform and can be started up in either milling or turning configurations. The Simulator is an actual FANUC CNC control, so students will become familiar with the look, feel, function and layout of the control as they navigate and program a fully operational CNC control. FANUC’s MANUAL GUIDE i conversational programming interface allows user to graphically generate programs that can be simulated in 3D, prior to being converted back to conventional NC programs and used on machine tools using FANUC controls. Uploading and downloading (read and punch) functions use a Flash ATA interface and USB interface, and DNC functions are supported by Ethernet and a Flash ATA card.

  • Immediately usable by connecting to the electrical outlet at the classroom or office
  • Switch between machining center system and lathe system at power on operation
  • It comes with standard MANUAL GUIDEi
  • Easy to understand simple system configuration for beginners
  • Equipped with the same manual pulse generator and emergency stop button as the real machine tool

The FANUC Machining Simulator encompasses the complete manufacturing process from part design and engineering to CNC programming to virtual production simulation. The FANUC Machining Simulator features Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD/CAM/CAE software and a custom machining simulation program designed by ModuleWorks.

CNC Machining Simulator

The FANUC Machining Simulator combines the FANUC CNC Simulator with Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD/CAM/CAE software and a powerful custom machining simulation program to provide a complete manufacturing experience without the need for a machine. It comes with Fusion 360, a cloud-based 3D CAD, CAM and CAE software platform that helps bridge the gap between design and machining and works on both Mac and PC. Students can use Fusion 360 to perform CAD/CAM work and the included post processors will convert the designs into G-code suitable for the included CNC. The CNC will use this G-code to command the machine tool. The simulation system also includes a simple G-code editor for making modifications before the program is sent to the CNC. Students can easily import their programs directly to the CNC using the FANUC FASBacCNC user interface and also back-up the critical CNC data.

Users can virtually manufacture parts in milling or turning environments with realistic kinematics and structure. The simulation is based on actual CNC position data, not on the G-code program, this provides the most realistic simulation as the virtual machine reacts exactly as a real machine. Manual machine functions like jog, hand-wheel and reference cycles also work exactly like a real machine. The software also uses color-coded tool paths, back-plot and cut locations to make it easy for users to identify the tool, path and cutting result. Real-time collision detection uses visual and audio signals to notify users of collisions. The milling simulation includes a 21-tool changer and the turning simulation includes a 12-tool turret. Milling tool data can be freely assigned or imported from the CNC Simulator, while turning uses a predefined set of turning tools that cover a wide range of applications.

Designed with the classroom in mind

Students can perform operations and programming exercises away from the machine and then simply take the program to the machine. Features such as FANUC’s dual screen display are standard features, so with additional PC software, instructors can replicate the screen of the simulator on a PC, via Ethernet connection for instructor-led classes on a projector.

Process-orientated conversational programming

For students advancing to a smaller job shop or tool room, user friendly MANUAL GUIDE i conversational programming simplifies and enhances their productivity. This innovative part programming operation environment focuses the student on machine operations, rather than just G-code, allowing a job to be completed in the shortest time possible.

FANUC CNC Guide

It is a PC software by which you can learn how to operate CNC, check the machining program, and confirm the operation of customization features. Development and debugging of custom screens and ladder programs can be effectively performed on the PC. As you can actually debug on a PC in the office before changing the customized software on the actual machining tool, it will improve efficiency of development work.
